Recently, I helped throw a surprise 30th birthday party for a fellow geeky friend of mine. Let’s all welcome him to the dark side of 30!

Of course, Pinterest is a great resource for party ideas. Knowing that, my good friend (his wife) and I pinned away and came up with our own version of a Star Wars party.

BEHOLD! This party was a lot of fun and was fairly easy to put together.

Star Wars Birthday Party IdeasAlas, I didn’t get any pics of the party banners, but, below are some of the party details.

Star Wars Party Utensil Holders

The utensil holders were just recycled tin cans wrapped in Star Wars humor

Star Wars Party Appetizers

Mmm, chips and dip!

Star Wars Party Princess Leia Buns

We had “boba-que” chicken to go with these slider buns.

Star Wars Party Drinks

Star Wars Party Death Star Rice Krispies

In addition to the above, we had “cryptonite jello shots”.

Star Wars Party Foam Lightsabers

Pool noodle lightsabers – there are a ton of tutorials to make these on Pinterest.

Star Wars Party Glowing Foam Lightsabers

If you want your “lightsaber” to glow, place a small flashlight in the pool noodle opening!

Lyndon LOVES these lightsabers! We had a ton of leftover lightsabers from the party and we play with them almost every day. He can play without doing any damage, since they’re made of foam. He’ll tell me “Mama [stern look], I challenge you to a duel!”

May the force be with your party!
